I saw this listed actually on twitter of all places, I saw one of these in a shop window here in Brisbane 5 years ago and figured it was some modern piece just going by the dial but now seeing this, the movement, and the caseback, is this really a Cal 321 145.012-67 Racing Speedmaster? The seller's comments are in French but here are the pics, asking price is 6,700 Euro which is definitely out of my current price range but damn it looks cool, and has my new favorite movement. Anyone have one of these, or know the story behind them? Assuming the dial is all good the hands look exceptional as does the case, and while faded the bezel is an original dot-above-90 and relatively clean looking too, its just a plain great looking watch!
This watch was posted on TZ and while there is a picture of a similar watch in the omega reference AJTT (page 604) stating it is a reference 145.012 I 'm not so sure about this watch - main thing is I've never seen a cal. 321 speedmaster with a painted on omega logo like this in fact the earliest cal. 861 speedmasters had the so-called transition dial with the applied omega symbol. Regardless, I wouldn't pay more for this watch than I would pay for a similar condition 145-012 speedmaster and the price in this case being absolutely stratospheric.
These three are from John Goldberger's books that are in the same style, although all subtly different from the one posted above, the first does actually have that applied logo on the dial but its an earlier 105.012-63: This one is supposedly a correct 145.012-67, even though its dial has painted rather than an applied symbol: This last one is a Cal 861 145.022-69, definitely has more of a Speedmaster MK2 racing dial kinda look going on than the other two:
Actually in the original post it looks like someone replaced the hands with a new set of Speedy Pro hands with a second hand off a Speedmaster MK2 racing (non luminous) anyway, guessing there's no way a set of red hands can be sourced off eBay.
