    Hi

was doing a little reading via the moon watch story learning about the precursor to the 321. It showed a prototype of a 2915 pic with a few other refs in the technical data. It says Mod. Huguenin which I assume is the case manufacturer. It also states Ouv. 30mm.

any idea what that is as I thought the 2915 was just shy of 39mm.

Geeky I know but that 30mm technical detail is bugging me.

You mixed 2 things up. You start with the Mvmt. .Then you follow up with the watch diameter. Stay with the Mvmt.

So you are saying the 30mm refers to the movement even though we know it’s 27mm?

Can you perhaps show photos of what you are talking about? It's pretty hard to follow when you write vague things like "It says ..." and "it also states ..." ::confused2::

´ouv. lun.´ stands for 'ouverture de la lunette' which means inside opening of the bezel. They must of shortened this to just Ouv. 30mm makes sense I think for this watch.

Interesting picture. Sorry for going slightly off topic… Where does it come from?

My reason for asking is that it:
    a) appears old and perhaps even originates from the same period as the watch and
    b) because the bezel shown lacks the Tachymetre Base script. Never quite seen that before!

It’s from a book. It’s the prototype of the 2915. I was questioning the 30mm reference. I believe this relates to the bezel opening rather than diameter etc of the watch.
    Thanks.

    Cool pic with that bezel!
    There's no way to fit Lemania CH27 (27mm) into a 30mm case :)
    Dial diam is also 30mm.

One of the few watches I will never sell. Almost sold it for a Speedy reduced a few years ago, which I am very glad I decided not to do.

Sweet lord…I am certainly happy for you that you did not…that would have resulted in a lifelong facepalm :) Round here ’dibs’ counts as the highest compliment  It’s not perfect, it probably would look crap on my wrist, but it’s absolutely beautiful (and I too have quite the thing for Lemania).

Thank you! Glad you like it. It sits in my watch box most of the time, as being 14k YG it looks best in a dress setting, but occasionally I bring it out. The 30mm case wears quite nice on my wrist (which is a little over 6 inch), but it is more than due for a service. I've seen several other examples with the "chronometer" text on the dial. When I first purchased it in 2015 I thought it was simply a refinished dial where the refinisher put chronometer by mistake instead of chronograph. However, the movement is labeled as adjusted in several positions, which is quite interesting for a hand wind chrono of this age, especially this Lemania movement.

So are we concluding with the pic the Ouv. Designation means inside opening measurement with respect to the speedy I assume.
