Hi all, new member here.

I have my grandfathers old omega which has been sitting in storage ever since my father past away in 1990. The mechanism seems to work ok and needs a service although frustratingly, my father kept taking it to an Italian backyard watch repairer who punched out the serial when he changed parts.

The man issue I have is that the watch case is 18k gold but has been welded or reformed and has fixed pin (not removable) I would really like to find another case for it so I can wear it. Any suggestions on where I can look for one? Not much out on eBay and google search throws up Temu, Etsy and others.

Any ideas on options?

Does the watch have very strong sentimental importance for you? Because the dial has been poorly repainted in the past and it will not be easy to find a replacement case.

It is going to be difficult to find a case. Even if there is a gold case sitting on eBay made for an Omega 30mm caliber, there is no guarantee that the dial will fit the case.

Your watch’s case looks to be a generic gold case of a type used in South America during the 1940’s or 1950’s.

If all you want is to wear it, you may be able to find a watch band made for fixed lug watches for sale. You will need to measure the width of the lugs. Here is an example:

Hope this helps,
