I wouldn't take Hodinkee prices as representative of the market. Remember, this site sells £200 UG Altesse's for $1400+ (the power of marketing!).

A calibre 42 for $1900? Oh, how I laughed.

I have a fondness for this line so I’m always watching with interest. Rare to see a dial this clean so not entirely surprised that it’s was priced higher or sold quickly.

I don’t, I am fully aware.

This is not an egregious price typical of hodinkee, though. On the high end, sure. Crazy? No.

The same reference sold on this site for $600…over three years ago (with a replacement crown, no less). I’ve seen several others trade elsewhere north of $800 in lesser condition.

Fair enough, I'm not too familiar with this model, although I do really like it. Maybe they are becoming more realistic in their pricing strategy?

Also, do they sell vintage watch on commission or do they actually buy them first?

They buy them. The company they just bought, Crown and Caliber, does both consign and buy to sell.

Very high price. I should have sold all mine on the dink.
Well I’m glad you didn’t.

Is this an Outdoorsman dial ?

I believe technically the outdoorsman is ref 20101, but everyone has applied that term to a broad range of references and case sizes. So at this point it's not a very specific term.

anyhow it looks like it *may* be a dial for a ref 20101, but its not possible from this one bad photo to evaluate if original, although the round 3's would be an immediate question

Possibly. Pic is terrible
Sorry, I’ll get a better pic, it looks really good in person. Hope this helps evaluation!
Thanks

Thanks, interesting these little watches !
On that point many of us agree. Small but punch above their weight in wrist presence.
