    Hello,
    Thoughts on this Constellation please!

18k WG case unfortunately does not appear to be original Omega I would like your thoughts.
Also, is this dial factory original? The Constellation is very bold, finally were there lume dots on this model?

    All help is appreciated!

It also does not appear to pass the MOY test.
Demond's wonderful article on C case Constellation mentions "the knurled bezel version of the calibre 564 168.009/17. Designated as model 168.027". Could this be it with an interesting dial finish?

    Again, all help is appreciated.

It is the 168.027, but with a fake case back. Only the bezel is WG. Some dials have lume, some do not, just like this one which is consistent with the hand. About MOY, Desmond also said it applies in all cases, except where it doesn't. On the dial, only the word Constellation is definitely been messed with for some reason. Movement has different colour shades so it's not desirable by some. In all, this is not a good buy except as parts only.

PS: WG knurled bezel with linen dial finish is the combination I like most out of all the C Connies.

    WG 168.027
Your post looks like a phony case with a re-painted dial

You're very welcome. One more note, the case may have been shot with the modification to fit the fake snap-on case back, so not much is left for good parts can come from this watch.

@pitpro thanks - those were my thoughts on this case exactly.
Although the finish on the dial for the most part looks good, I agree with TNT that I believe someone only messed with the "Constellation".

@TNTwatch I also love the look of it. Unfortunately I appraised - and bought this timepiece from a local jeweler at a high figure. I had assumed it was original without even looking at the case back (did not think the textured bezel could be replicated this well) so I am stuck with this piece until I decide to lose some money. Oh well. There is nothing like consulting the pros on this forum, thanks again!

Sorry to hear that. Maybe he will let you trade it
for something else from the shop if you tell
    him you are unhappy?

Did you appraise the whole case as WG or did the jeweller say so? Your case is stainless steel while pitpro's is all WG which has the hallmark at the bottom of one of the lugs in addition to on the case back.

It's not clear from the picture how the case was modified, but you can check to see if the add-on/adapter can be removed easily or not. If yes then a proper case back can restore it to a usable watch. Still no way close to the value of an all WG watch.

    Best of luck.
