·OK so I need to get a life - how could the star position on a C Case dial be so annoying?
Well, here's hoping some of you C case aficionados can help with this query. Apologies if this has been covered in previous threads - I did search, but to no avail...
Two examples of the same ref. 168.017 from my little hoard - but the star position under the Constellation script is noticeably different on each one.
The first (very worn) dial there is a clear gap between the star and the script above; on the second example (with a spotless dial) the gap is barely there at all.
Is this second example a worrying sign of redial tinkering? Hoping that C case experts may reassure me there are variances in the position of the star.
I have studied the scripts, MOY etc closely on both watches, and they seem kosher. But this star positioning is bugging me. The silver dial is immaculate - too good to be true? I've already spotted the crown is incorrect BTW. Any thoughts much appreciated.
