After less than a year of collecting I can safely say that all you WIS's are to thank and blame for helping me down the road to vintage goodness. It started with a lucky 105.012-65 pick up from Bulang & Sons a few months before the auction madness popped all the good 321's into the 5-digit range (sure you can get lucky with the bay or a @bazamu first-owner special but you know what I mean). A family friend then gave me a gorgeous gilt Sub 5512 (<-- eating my words from the paragraph above) and then a spur of the moment Hodinkee grab (one of the ones with all the right parts ) got me a Carrera 3147N / Dato 45. Too many of you had me ogling straight lugs and so my 105.012 left me wanting more. I threw up a WTB post on chronotrader and OF's well regarded @250scr was nice enough to offer up a great straight lug at a fair price. So while my piece is overshadowed by the onslaught of awesomeness that is @Spacefruit 's new Soyuz, here's goodbye to a great Buzz and hello to a glorious Ed: (I know the rehaut should be black but for the moment I'm partial to it like this) Now...how long until the Wally bug gets me...
Both great and thanks for such good photographs. Possibly this has just set you off on the desire to surpass even this fantastic acquisition?
Thanks for all your kind words @WatchmakerTheory @Optimizer13 @oddboy @Kazyole @repoman @Javi22 @rollingrevolver @demollo @Slevin kelevra @davy26 - it does... but for now saving up for a wedding has taken hold of my bank account and put holes in my pockets, as they say. @Pianist - the crystal or the rehaut? or do they come as a package (if so thanks for letting me know!)? the crystal appears good to me under a loupe with the correct omega symbol in the center.
Empathy . . . but the married man soon finds ways of continuing his 'projects' without the missus becoming alerted and able to frustrate!
DM me if you'd like, I have a lead or two on others that I didn't go through the with after I landed this one. And @oddboy - thanks for the info @ChicagoFrog - I keep trying to find you as bazamu.
