Such a bummer to see people badgered by TMZ. Being upset with an airline is one thing, but then having a camera stuck in your face and asked questions designed to instigate drama for a few clicks. That’s the sad part.

He was very nice signing autographs at National Air and Space Museum a few years ago. Here he is with my kids. EA8C4BEA-2E71-4C8C-A282-967BB0A49F3B.jpeg

The Man is a legend……Risked his whole existence on 60’s Design & Engineering……

Will be remembered long, long after the rest of us have turned to dust

I think he has earned the right to be a tad grumpy, if he wants to be…

I woke up at 04:00 expecting to be on an 06:00 flight getting into LHR at 20:00. I found an email telling me the flight was cancelled and I’d been rebooked on the 17:40 flight and wouldn’t arrive until 08:20 the following day. It means my hotel and train booking at LHR are messed up, and I will face the dreaded red-eye flight as I always do. I was looking forward to my first day-time flight into Europe, but “ c’est la vie”... I’m not happy, but doesn’t do anyone any good going off on innocent airline staff who likely had nothing to do with the problem.

Mr Aldrin is a legend and a hero.

However he’s developed a reputation for being a complete *ssh*le in his latter years.

Maybe his frustration emanates from his expectation that present day customer service should be like it was back in his heyday.

I rarely call Verizon, Comcast, FedEx, or many of the larger "service-oriented" outfits, without having to go searching for blood pressure medication...that I don't even take.

He was a bit testy but it sounds like checkin delays made him miss his flight. I'd be a bit testy too.

Well great to know that after all these years he still trusts his Speedy (1:50):D

From what I could hear I think the reason he was pissed off was that he had to wait for 20 minutes before someone came along and actually got something sorted out...not exactly a "priority" service.

I've had issues with United, recently twice stuck in Houston (in successive trips!) trying to get back. On the first trip United said they had no hotels available in Houston to offload international passengers (which for me meant that they had no backup plan for hotel reservations).

I ended up having to to share a hotel room with two kind Brazilian female passengers. I suppose I should not have complained too much:p:D.
Both were quite attractive and 30ish, but of course, as any happily married man would do, I crashed out on the suite entrance sofa/coffee area...and they had all the fun sharing the bed:rolleyes::D
