Buzz Aldrin has shared his travel voucher from the 1969 moon landing on social media — and the journey cost less than you might think.
In a post on both his Twitter and Facebook accounts, the former astronaut wrote: “#TBT [Throw Back Thursday] My mission director @Buzzs_xtina’s favourite piece of my memorabilia. My travel voucher to the moon. #Apollo11.”
Aldrin was making reference to two pieces of paper picked out by his manager Christina Korp, which appear to show his return journey from Houston, Texas, via the moon, costing just $33.31 (US).
The second page notes the details of the journey, using both a government “vehicle” and government “spacecraft”.
