    Hey guys,

I'm new to the forum but i hoped you could help me out.
For a while now I have been really in to watches. I've found a nice Omega Geneve watch on a dutch second hand website and i was wondering if you could tell if it's a good deal? I did some research and found out that its dated around 1974 and its had a 1030 caliber movement. (Things you guys probably already know).
    The seller asks 375 euro.
    This is the watch:

    A new Omega enthousiast

Welcome to the forum. It is hard to tell with any certainty, partly because the pictures are poor quality and partly because there are no sold listings on Ebay for that reference. Seventies Geneves are not really my thing (I have more than a few sixties Geneves). The price seems a little high to me.

Thanks a lot! Is it maybe better to look for 60's Geneve? Since this will be my first vintage Omega do you maybe have any suggestions for what to start with? My budget is around 400 euro. I really like the minimalistic look of the 60's seamaster its that a good option?

Watch the Private Watch Sales board on Omega Forums. Fair prices, good quality and you are unlikely to get screwed like eBay.

So many options. All I can say is, be patient, use this forum for feedback and the sales board. efausers experience and opinions are certainly valuable, but I have to say I have found great deals on Ebay. Most recently this week I was able to grab this unmarked Geneve ref.136.041 from 1968 for under $200 USD.

Worth looking at in the price range you stated are the Omega F300hz's (accutron tuning fork movement). Very accurate with beautifully designed dials and cases. I purchased this one for this one for $125 USD it needed about $50 worth of service. It is best to look for a working watch. Service can be expensive for nonworking watches.

You can find Seamaster Cosmics in the 400 euro price range. They have many different dial variations. I purchased this one for under $400 USD.

Thank you for the help, really appreciate it!
    The Seamaster cosmic looks awesome.
Just got an offer for 300 euros on the geneva I posted, still too much I think isn't it?

Sleep on it. Wait for some other opinions on the price.

If everything is original and checks out, I'd say 300 euros is an ok price.
