So i'm ready to purchase my first Speedmaster. However there's a problem. It's like picking a needle out of a haystack! I spend way too many hours researching before I can make up my mind. So here's a little list of what I'm looking for. Any information would be great appreciated!

    1. Non reduced issue
    2. model year doesn't matter(no pre-moon)
    3. Non co-axial(due to price)::censored::
    4. Classic dial( no fancy mickey mouse, spacelab, or the crazy planets)
    5. What's a good avg. price for a starter speedy?
    6. Good online dealer( would rather deal with straight from this site)

I like your list of 5 care-abouts for a first Speedy. IMHO, you cannot beat a classic Moonwatch - a Speedmaster professional, manual wind, hesalite crystal. You can buy one brand spanking new from your local authorized dealer or boutique. There are some variations of the classic moonwatch, such as the "Tintin", or a chocolate sapphire sandwich, a moonphase edition, or limited editions, like the 45th anniversary Apollo 11. A whole lot of choices there - or, just stick to a classic Moonwatch. Since you mentioned price with the co-axial, that would suggest to me that you would like to optimize around cost, in which case, I would highly recommend you contact @Kringkily a trusted source for Speedmasters at prices WAY more competitive than you will find at your local AD. A great example is right here: http://omegaforums.net/threads/2008-omega-speedmaster-professional-3570-50.18926/

@Ray916MN, sorry I didn't state I wasn't looking for a racing model. Though the one @DLT222 has posted is out of this world for the price! I'm looking for more of a classic issue. @dsio, Yes. The 9300 is out of my budget.... For now. Thanks for the help for far!

The Racing Model doesn't float my boat at all. I am planning on getting a classic 3570 some time soon....

I initially had my heart set on that exact Racing model - all black dial and bracelet. However I was swayed by the Pro and today I finall received my new sapphire sandwich. Perfect for me and so glad I chose this one!

The modern 3570.50 fits your 1-4 criteria. There's a good inventory out there, in both new and pre-loved markets. eBay sold listings will give you an idea how this model is selling these days regarding condition and type of package (boxes, paper, etc).

Here are a few eBay Sellers with excellent reputation http://omegaforums.net/threads/Ωf-unanimously-favorite-ebay-sellers-list.3612/

As @repoman said, you may also check with @Kringkily as he is also a good source for these models.

    Good luck!

I went through a similar process. I ended up with the 3572.50, but was also considering the 3592.50, also very beautiful. These two have the hesalite crystal and exhibition back. These are both discontinued.

This is if you are okay without the solid back. The 3570.50 is cool too!

I can also say kringkily is a highly reputable dealer.

I didn't buy through kringkily (or anyone else yet) but as a nervous purchaser he was brilliant in helping me with all my questions.

I love my 3570.50 for the historical connection to the moon. The manual wind is cool. I was worried about how easy it would be to scratch the hesalite crystal. Sometimes I wish I had gone with the sapphire 3573.50 instead which has the sapphire crystal but knowing I can buff out the scratches in a matter of minutes with Polywatch keeps me calm. :)

I would put forward that you should start with George ( Kringkily) as I purchase all three of my
    Speedmasters from him!

Thanks everyone for pointing me in the right direction. I went with the 3570.50. I found it to fit most of the criteria on my list. Plus, I really wanted the Hesalite crystal. It looks more inviting than the sapphire crystal. I promise to post photos VERY SOON!

@RedRaider01 when will you start your search for your next speedmaster? Looks like it took you twenty days to purchase your first.

You might start by looking at the really cool Limited Editions. I would recommend either the Speedy Panda, the Gemini IV or the Meteorite. Don't forget the take a look at the DSOTM and GSOTM.

Keep us posted on your progress....

@Taddyangle, I have a bad tick with research. In work, and with play. I research way too heavily so I can take the perfect shot. I'm excited about my purchase. I can't wait to post some great photos tomorrow... Probably at work... :whistling:. Thanks!
