Buying a solid 18k gold Constellation

Might be the picture, but is it possible that the 1 o clock lug is bent inwards?

Crown is incorrect, but it's possible to find replacements. That alone wouldnt deter me from this watch.

The dial is a matter of taste, I suppose. Personally, I'd mind the spotting on a piece that's otherwise in such a good condition.

Unless gold prices have just completely shot through the roof I personally think that it is a bit too pricey, but it looks to be a good example. The service crown can be easily remedied.

The lug does look bent but only in the one pic - worth confirming with the seller before you decide against the watch for this reason. ( if it is bent I’d pass on it)
The dial is spotted but I have a dogleg dome dial with similar patina and you can genuinely only see the bubbling in photos or with a loupe.
I like the OP watch and I don’t think $3,000 is expensive for an 18k no-date dogleg. ( I’d expect €3,000 or even £3,000)

couple of interesting things about this watch:
It’s a 167.005-62 case, so must have been one of the first of the new numbers made and a bit of a transitional as ‘regular’ new-numbered cases didn’t have a date code.
I’d expect the vertical cross-hair to be almost hard up against the L on a dome dial but this one is touching the E ( even pie-pans don’t normally actually touch the E) but the dial looks correct otherwise - the exception that proves the rule.
