Should I just cut my losses and get a sapphire sandwich on a bracelet? As the CK2988 it is “sold out” I can probably sell it or swap it at no extra cost (£4300 for the CK2988 and £4100 for the sapphire sandwich)

It will I regret it? I think this might be a classic case of buyers remorse!!!!

Part of me thinks....ditch the Helson and the CK2998 and get a PO Chrono secondhand.

This “hobby” can be very frustrating:-(

Don't worry! Everyone gets that feeling at one time or another during this crazy hobby. It's all part of the learning process!

It looks like your mind is a little all over the place with what you "really" want. So give it some more time and think it out before you buy again and regret not getting the other one again....

Try a more vintage style rally strap. It should pop. My 2 stitch straps with white don’t get dirty.

How could anyone tell what you should do now when you obviously don't know it yourself..

I say go with your guts.
Release the ck and pick up the sapphire sandwich. It will feel more “right” on your wrist.

I rate this as a WUS thread and there are just too many recently, single posts or full threads..It's so annoying that I am about to do the Dennis.

What does WUS mean though? I’ve googled it to no avail. My dog knows f all about watches, but is possibly more polite than you

WUS is a gossipy forum with a lot of Trolls. My answer .... Don't have a watch in your box that you don't wear. Life is too short. Go buy what you like, not what watch collectors think is important. Ditch the CK2998 if you are not going to wear it. You came in for a researched purchase and made an impulse buy. Send it back and recalibrate. Reverso is always a good addition ... I love mine.

Thank you, fair enough. Sorry for not knowing the jargon. It’s so easy to get swept along with the limited edition thing :-( I thought you were saying I was bragging or something ...quite the opposite.

I guess the whole “am I doing the right thing?.... what should I do” post can be annoying...but I am genuinely torn..and I guess I saw this as an opportunity to ask informed people rather than my wife...her eyes glaze over :)

How can you afford a 5k watch but not a couple of hundred for the extra bracelet?

Buy and wear what you like, what does my opinion on what you should do matter?

Don't like it? Then get rid of it, simple...but just don't do it impulsively because that causes some philosophical issues related to flipping.

If you are looking to get some consolation over your choices or improve your current state of affairs...well....try doing a strap/bracelet swap. Also try on the sapphire sandwich before you decide to buy

Also don't be afraid to wear it to hell...watches were meant to be worn (in every sense of the word) and especially the modern pieces have parts readily available. I don't buy what I know I wouldn't be able to wear, no matter how pretty.

if you think the strap is what's bothering you, maybe that's where you should start before you start torturing yourself.
there are fantastic straps to be had for 35 euros if you pick them right. The mods have now kindly created a sticky thread called "watch strap ressources " where you'll see tons of good suggestions.
Sorry to be so blunt, but the strap you show on this watch truly is crappy - no wonder things don't feel right.
Add my vote for the more vintage look.

I don't think it's any more delicate than a sapphire sandwich. That said I don't fancy the watch whatsoever. Blue ck 2998 is nice, this one not as much. And as someone else noted, if you're going to invest in the watch then don't skimp on a strap or bracelet. This forum is littered with cheap and/or poor strap choices.

Good question, because the steel bracelet here in the UK would be £400, and I’m worried it’s pouring good money after bad.
