I'm coming to the experts regarding a potential purchase. I have a reasonable watch collection, but only one other vintage piece. I'm looking for a Speedmaster 861 and came upon this one on consignment. Asking price is $3200, please let me know your thoughts.
Pics need to be a bit higher quality but that looks like a killer 145.022-76 case, bezel and dial. Looks like the 74 through early 76 dial to me. The price is not outrageous esp with a nice case and bracelet. Chrono second might be a replacement but that could be just the pictures. the lume patina on the hour is uneven and maybe flaking. What's the serial number?
Indeed the lume is flaking on the hour hand... And the minute hand lume seems darker though it could be just lighting... Also check the 7th picture, left lug. I don't know what that is but it looks like a hole in the lug... It probably isn't but be sure to check it out... The bottom pusher holder tube thing might have some damage to it I think... Perhaps because of friction... Crystal is genuine Omega as you can actually see the mark in the center.
Based from just these pics looks like 3510.50 to me. Post pics of the insides and experts will surely be able to let you know with 100% certainty.
That's a Speedmaster reduced. I'm not sure if their are resources to date it with anything but the serial number. It's 38 or 39mm vs the moonwatch aka professional at 42. They are considerably cheaper and if your wrist is larger then 7 inches I would avoid it. http://www.omegawatches.com/watches/speedmaster/reduced/35105000/ Some info on them here. http://www.fratellowatches.com/spee...ed-versus-speedmaster-professional-moonwatch/
