Quick question for the Bulova academics:
Was it common for Bulova to use the tuning fork logo on the clasp for non-Accutron watches? If so, how early.
Reason I ask is I finally found (and bought) an original bracelet for my early (‘63ish) 666, it’s the same bracelet used in advertisements for the watch through the mid 60’s.

The bracelet was made by JBC but the clasp has only the tuning fork and no “Bulova” on it.

My '69 Snorkel (ladies version) has a JBC bracelet with tuning fork clasp, basically the exact same style as you have pictured, though obviously smaller 😁. Given that I've found vintage ladies watches to not be subject to the same degree of modifications as men's watches of the same era, I have no reason to think it's a later addition.

This doesn't answer the "how early" part of your question, however.

Thanks Connie, I just didn’t know if they cross- branded like that, akin to a Honda with Acura caps on the wheels.

I am abit confused. The bracelet made by JB Champion does come factory with a variety of Accutron Tuning Fork watches with two examples below. Thus the tuning fork LOGO on the clasp

My puzzling question is the advertisement you posted is a Bulova (SELF Winding Bulova Snorkel) watch with the ad dated 1966. That is not a Tuning fork watch.

I think the point we're getting at is that Bulova adopted the tuning fork as a company wide logo at some point for all watches. The question is: when?

My favorite Bulovas have to be the Devil Diver 666 Feet ones from the 1970s

The model in question has that on the dial too! 😀
