Hello everybody,

Thanks in advance for advices about this guy.

chasing a Bulova Chronograph since a few months ago, I really like those skin divers cases with the red pop of the bezel.

Well the thing I’m super out of funds right now since a baby is due in June. So I need to spend the less on it.

Found this little guy on the bay but it gotta be water damage right? Description says it works but Chrono do not reset

How much are the asking for it? Unless it's a huge discount, the cost of servicing will probably outweigh the savings.

Also, do you have movement shots and does the condition not bother you? It's hard to tell from the photos, but I'd be worried about past water damage.

Lastly, and I say this from experience: babies are expensive and more important than watches. Maybe just keep saving until the baby arrives and be patient for a better example to pop up for sale?

The bezel is the only thing worthwhile on this watch. If it costs more than that- pass.

Edit- just saw the chunk missing from the bezel

Not even worth that then

I tried looking around for a better example to compare and I couldn't seem to find any of the coke bezel chronos for sale anywhere. I see lots of the blue bezel version and prices seem like they've doubled in the last couple of years. 😲

I would just wait. A better one will come along. I can say from experience that the few times I've gone for "bargain buys," I've often ended up spending as much as I would have on a better version just getting them to a workable, wearable state.

And you will never overcome the cosmetic issues. Unless you love the well weather beater look, these are what they are and you won’t find cosmetic parts.

Theyre looking for 600 usd. Waiting on the caliber shot ATM.

And yes, the baby budget is safe, just cant spent more at all

I was thinking this coke watches be around 1000-1500 but found a couple of sold listings below 800 on the bay

Yeah I can live with the cosmetics as is, I think those marks/damages tells stories about the watch

Condtion, condition, condition. If you like the swamp monster look then go for it. If you want one in better shape just be patient. Those are uncommon but not rare.

The middle is unfortunately not mine. Those are pretty much unobtainium. I’d love one but I’m not paying north of 4K. Bulova has rereleased that design though in quartz and automatic. Top and bottom are.

The first range gets you something of collector grade. Below a that there are compromises.

I vote to be patient for a better one to pop up. They're really fun watches and worth the wait. Here's my blue variant.
