What are the details of this model...I guess what I'm asking if I wanted to start looking, what would I be looking for.
You're off to a great start! Pristine examples of three Zenith grails... you must be in Germany or Switzerland, because A3736's as nice as that one never seem to leave those countries.
Well, those are certainly three peaks of Zenith - Subsea, A 386 and Cairelli. If you were to only have three Zeniths, I'm not sure you could do much better. You mean the three colored one? You'd be looking for a vintage Zenith El Primero reference A 386. It's the vintage El Primero to get, and even better in the metal than in the pictures - I guarantee that. Probably the best represented Primero on the forum...
Yes Lou that's it the three color sub-dialed one! Now does the reference A386 refer to the case and dial style with the El Primero movement or just the case style with the movement? I know nothing about Zenith watches and am concerned I'm trying to run before I can walk..
The reference refers to case, dial and El Primero - whole kit and kaboodle. In fact, that is the only dial that comes with that case in steel anyway. Tell a Zenithista that you are after an A 386 and there will be no mistake about the watch you are chasing.
That's not my A3736. I posted my buddies picture by error. See my next thread for my example. It's still a nice piece but nothing like the one above.
Thank you Lou that was very helpful! and exactly what I was looking for information wise. And the one on the strap in your picture Lou
It was. He's talking about the first picture he posted, the metallic gray one with the orange numbers.
Beauties - as Lou says, perhaps the zeniths of the Zeniths. For those interested in the Cairellis there is obviously someone who has found a bag of them and is flogging them on Chrono24 - at a price, and I don't think there're any issued ones either.
