Yea there's definitely a lesson to be learned there about buying other people's problems. I still make this same mistake all the time because I think sentimentally rather than analytically with watches but it remains a very valid point.

He bought the 1803 back in '64, and while it is a dependable timepiece, it has also been a depreciating asset in real dollar terms. If only he had gone for the '64 Speedmaster instead. Oh well, no one's investment record is perfect.
