just try it! there is not so much choice - otherwise it will be for a Ranchero - also good, don´t you think so?

Ranchero is 1.4mm and the 321 is 1.9mm.
So if it is for a Ranchero, you have to donate it to .............ummmm............me.
    ;)

Too hard to tell the inside diameter with the shadows. Do you have a movement to test? Any movement will work. Just need one with a 1.4mm hour post. A good way to check against it is to look at http://www.ranfft.de/uhr/index-e.html . Post sizes are listed with the movement type.

Thank you for this useful link. unfortunately I don't have the capacity to remove hands of one of my other watches. Will try to take good macro pictures later. By the way, which model this hand could come from?
    Ranchero 2990 ?
    2915?
    2913? Possible?
    Or later replacement one?

    Cheers

Looks like a 1.4mm hole rather than a 1.9mm one.

One option is to buy or borrow one of these[IMG]
Or take it to a watchmaker and have them check it.

The 1.4mm brings stupid money and the 1.9mm brings double that.... stupid stupid money.

Looks close to 1.9mm. Whatever it is, a micro meter is a very cheap investment for a huge profit.

I would say by just looking that it is probably from the Railmaster 2914 for cal. 284. Proportions of the arrow are slightly different than 2915.
    IMO

... the question is: Can it be widend from 1,7 mm to 1,90 mm?

    Would agree on that.
I think we can rule out the 2915 because of the collar heigth on the back. Below is a 2915 vs. the OP's. See the different height in the hole's back "collar". The 2915 has the highest of all BA's.

    2915 ba back top.jpg

And regarding the length and shape. The 2990 Ranchero's is the longest and most narrow bodied BA, the 2915 has the widest body but is shorter. The 2914 is somewhat in between the 2913 and 2915, both in length and width and also hole size (1,7 vs. 1,5 vs. 1,9).
The picture below hasn't the absolute precise proportion between all of them, but gives you an idea.

But yes, the safest and easiest way, is to measure the hole:)
