Friday discussion regarding UK pulling out of EU.

    Surely the markets are adjusting.

Will the breakup of the EU soon follow?

Does this give a preview of the November election in the US?

For our friends in the UK, is this a good thing?

I'm really surprised how the vote is trending (85% reporting as of this post). Guess I might register for WoK.

Well The rate against the GBP seems to be improving the rate for EUR is taking a slide, so that might make anything German from Sinn & Nomos through to Lange a bit harder for all of us.

Great news for Bremont & Christopher Ward

Like the proverb and Terry Pratchett says, interesting times indeed!

You forgot the french. Marine Le Pen is already asking for a referendum.

Just to make it clear I DO NOT follow her on Twitter. This is from the rts.ch website.

Only if the AUD doesn't follow the GBP, and it looks like it is.

Nope. AUD has strengthened against the GBP. Gone from $1 buying 51pence to now buying 54 pence.

Having only been an EEA and not a full EC member since the mid 70s we are scratching our heads as to why the Brits would want out.
The amount of extra work involved, even with a well regulated trade-agreement, is annoying at best.
On the up side (for us Norwegians) there is now going to be one large economy in Europe on the same side of the fence as us, and that might make it possible to negotiate better conditions.
The biggest question is really what will be next? Will the Brits seek an associate agreement on some similar terms as Norway, Iceland and (earlier) Switzerland have had?
We are surely living in interesting times!
And the pound did get a whole lot more friendly to deal with at the moment....

As a Brit I'm shocked tbh, the smart money was on us staying in.

Uncertain times with far reaching consequences for sure but the choice has been made and there's no turning back....onwards and upwards.
