·1964 Breitling Top Time 810 Mark 1. Venus 178 movement. Fully serviced and refurbished in 2024. Hopefully the last watch that has to be sacrificed for car funds. Priced to sell but open to sensible offers.
The Breitling 810 Mark 1 Top Time was only made for about a year. Its distinguishing characteristic from the later models being its monocoque front loading case. Very hard to find watch.
Comes with two hand made leather straps from Jones in Tokyo. Both 21mm width to fit the unusual lug size of the watch. One strap has a Breitling buckle. Not sure if this buckle is original or repro but it has a Breitling logo. Other strap buckle is generic.
Watch is in good condition for a 61 year old timepiece. It has been used and is certainly not perfect but try finding another Mk1 Top Time for sale. Anywhere.
Case back is slightly worn although all inscriptions are still legible, some more than others. Dial and lume aged but in good condition, sub dials are marked in places but generally nice and clean. Hands were carefully touched up in service. On the wrist the watch looks fantastic to the naked eye.
As stated watch was fully serviced in August 2024, at considerable expense. Added a copy of the service receipt in photos. I did this major service because, in all honesty, I thought I would keep the watch but also because I thought it deserved to have some TLC to keep it alive for future generations. The service receipt with balance of warranty will be included in the sale.
The watch is quite large for an early 1960s chrono, around 38-40mm which gives it a considerable, almost modern, wrist presence to complement the vintage charm.
