Breitling announced today a new product line including a chronograph with the B01 in-house movement in a 42mm case, inspired by the vintage Breitling Premier. I think it looks good on some of the live pics (Hodinkee) and the blue dial render from the Breitling webiste looks quite elegant. Curious to see these live. I think overall this is a better effort than the new Basel 2018 Navitimer range. Perhaps this will finally spur Omega to make a decent sized automatic chronograph with the 9900 movement
The symmetry is almost perfect, marred by the new (well, renewed) logo 13.65mm thick with an exhibition case back, hmmm
Thicker than a Daytona, but slimmer than the new "slim" Speedy Racing with the 9900 movement at 14.9mm. I think it all depends on the watch crystal...Speedy Pro with hesalite is approx 14mm. 13.65mm is not "ultra thin" but not exactly hockey-puck territory either. Lugs look quite short which should help the overall ergonomics.
Well they are of course using the "old logo" of the 50s/60s Breitling watches, which I think was used in some of the later versions of the original Premier chronograph...so if Breitling opted for the winged logo, purists would probably cry foul...actually I think in this case the winged logo might be too strong a design element in a classic vintage inspired watch face. Ref. the date, no big deal for me as it is tucked away at 6 and matches the dial colour. I also think it adds some balance to the "open" twin register dial. Overall a useful complication for someone that might use the watch as their daily business wearer.

I don't really like the three hander and the day-date, but they nailed it with the chronographe housing their beautiful B01 in-house caliber!
The panda looks stunning but Breitling need to introduce a new stainless strap. Reusing the standard navi strap is getting a bit old.
Tried this on today, it's a great looking watch. Was trying to seal a deal for it but the AD wouldn't budge from full RRP with their reason being "Breitlings don't lose value, that's why we don't discount them".
