Breitling Navitimer - real or fake?

Hi,

I've been offered this watch, claimed to be purchased in the 60s. It's obviously not from the 60's, and from what I can see when I compare with pictures on the www, it lacks the word "Chronometre" above "Navitimer" on the watch face. Is this ok? when du you think it's from? It's outside of my comfort zone, so does anyone have an opinion? I would be grateful for any help. EB

Looks like a 90s Navitimer that has strange subdials (usually say automatic in one of them), date wheel, chrono hand, caseback and bracelet. Definitely needs to be examined and questioned before committing

Case back engravings seem light. Almost tinny looking.
I’m thinking fake as well.

Here’s mine for comparison- late 90’s/early 00’s, purchased from an AD in ‘04
There were dial variations, but the back on the OP’s is suspect.

"suspect"? Oh man I wish I had a dollar for every time some wanna-be scam artist in the Philippines showed me exactly what is pictured in this opening post. It's one of the most common knock-offs made along with the submariner and seadwellers.

Total Fake , Look at the fitment of bracelet to case, the off center crooked wings and date wheel .

the wings on your fourth picture is vertical in orientation. Should be horizontal like in your first picture. So there’s some suspicion there. 😀
