So I’m having a problem with my aerospace. It’s a E65362.
I’m having issues replacing the crown stem (which snapped through rust) I bought what I believe to be the correct stem, sourced from cousins uk. This is the code ETA958331401. It’s a 13.9mm tap 9 stem, but it seems to be slightly too short.
I’ve tried a stem extension, but that doesn’t work, because the crown tube is too narrow and the section of the extension that the stem screws in too is too long, so no matter how short I make the extension, the crown + extender “hits a wall” so to speak when it reaches the inside of the crown tube.
I think this is intentional in the aerospace, because usually you’d have the spring on the crown stem which allows it to recoil when you push the crown in to select.
So I’m hoping someone has had a similar issue and could point me to a 18mm version of the crown stem. But any help would be massively appreciated!
