True story…
I like watches but I’m not a big watch guy
Have a few Omegas, Tags etc.
My daily is usually a G-Shock or a Swatch
About a month ago I went to an AD to look at the green Seamaster which I purchased
Whilst chatting he mentioned that he had an Ed White
I knew about the vintage reference but wasn’t aware of the re-issue
So I just replied “Ok cool!” went about my business
I have a brown 1863 speedy and always fancied getting a “black” one
Over the last few days I came across the new Ed White and this thread and started to realise what an idiot I was
So I went back yesterday and enquired by the same sales assistant
“Yes sir- indeed we do”
I asked him to keep it for me overnight to give me a chance to think about it
I collected today
Got the big presentation box, with the cal. 321 booklet, extra straps, loupe etc.
Allso gave me the little box that it ships in from Switzerland
All in all - I’m kinda chuffed
So…
That’s my story

Congrats on your 321, you got lucky … I’ve been on the lists for the past 2 years or less too. I did however collect the new silver Snoopy at my local AD here in Florida last Friday on St Patty’s Day.

I'm in Frisco, TX this weekend for the annual Texas Pinball Festival and before we check into the hotel we stop for a late lunch at Legacy West, an upscale outdoor lifestyle mall in nearby Plano. There is a Watches of Switzerland store there, one of 7 in the US, owned by the main WOS group in the UK. They are agents for many brands, including Omega. I had a nice chat with one of the salesmen and we got around to Speedmasters, I said the Ed White 321 was the nicest steel Speedmaster Omega has made in the last 50 years, just the right execution (size, materials, bracelet, etc) to which he replied, "we haven't received a 321 or Snoopy yet in this store". So it seems even an AD from a large international watch/jewelry company still isn't able to get these items for their clientele. I almost wore the 321 but decided to wear something else for this visit. He said he would love to see the 321 if I was ever in the area.

Same in the UK - it is only the official Omega boutiques that receive the 321. None of the other Omega AD's.

We don't have an Omega Boutique in South Africa, which is perhaps why some dealers would get them.
I was very lucky indeed.
The same AD had only received one Snoopy, and have a list of about 25 waiting.
This is the shipping box.

Can't seem to add the pic

It's been 3 years already. Wen 2998 lollipop reissue? Photo taken from Davidoff Bros.

I put a 50% deposit down with my boutique the day after this watch was announced. I was told that even taking a deposit had to be approved by Omega. I expected a wait, but couldn’t have imagined that I would have had to wait this long. After 3 years and 3 months, I finally got the call today that my Ed White had arrived! I’m flying out on vacation today, so won’t get the watch in my hands until next week. Almost there…

My Boutique placed me on the waiting list after the watch was announced, and I took delivery February 28, 2023. No, I was not the first on the boutique's list but the wait was worth It, but OMEGA approved me straight away. WHAT A DREAM WATCH and worth the wait!!

Congratulations! The Cal. 321 is one of the few watches worth the wait. Enjoy!

Gorgeous design.. But somehow just doesn't look quite right brand spanking new.. I'd want it to look like it had lived a bit of a life.

The trouble is then you enter the Patina and condition debate. The ones with the best combination of the two are still £25k plus and one assumes prone to ongoing deterioration if used for daily wear. There will also be service complexities due to the age and value as people want to maintain the condition. It’s a wonderful journey but not for everyone. With a ceramic and enamel bezel and the ability to drop it in for a manufacturers standard renewal service the new/old one ticks a lot of boxes for many I suspect.
