Hello! I am the relatively new owner of a Seamaster 300M Chrono Diver 213.30.42.40.01.001. I've had it a little over a month and love it. I wear it to work each day, but do not wear it while at work d/t the 100% certainty of it being beaten to H@ll. It seems to be keeping fairly accurate time, between +3 to +4 seconds per day.

    I was wondering
    1) If anyone had an opinion/experiences or actual information on "break-in" time with a cal. 1164 piece.
    2) Has anyone with a 213.30......... or similar noticed whether the watch keeps better time if placed in a particular position, i.e. dial up, crown down, etc.?

    Thanks!

They are slightly positional, it gains in dial up, loses when its on its side. Break in period you'd expect 3 months or less.

Mine sits about +1.5 at present.

The 1164 is a Valjoux 7750, and many of us who own watches powered by that caliber notice they settle in after 3 to 7 weeks. All watches have positional variance, and it's best to experiment with yours to see what overnight position gains or loses since no two watches will be exactly the same. You can make up for lost seconds by leaving your watch in a position that gains overnight.

I realized that during the week I may not be wearing the watch enough; so I started hand winding it a dozen turns per day Monday through Friday. Since I started this it's kept +2 seconds/day. :) Thanks again.
