I'm sure others with more knowledge will chime in here, but I believe this watch is a redial (or franken-dial), it also has the wrong movement. I'm pretty sure Seamaster 300's never used a cal.561 movement, and the case-back is not correct. I really can't say about the bezel, but I'd be very suspicious of this watch.... And the seller !!!
Cal 561 is incorrect should be cal 565. For starters, that’s a big minus. Closed serifs (6,9) kinda bad, too. No white framing around date window is kinda bad, too
photos of the caliber 561 movement show it has a swan neck regulator. the photo you have posted doesn't.
its a total fake ,dial ,case, bezel ... so run away just search for stubby dial .... THIS might be helpful
And being a newbie does not disqualify you from using Google, or even our search function here. Just a heads up, lots of info on the 300, easily found. We've all been there. Steep learning curve, but enjoyable trip. Welcome
Have a look here:- http://thatwatchandmore.blogspot.com/2013/03/buying-vintage-omega-seamaster-300.html?m=1 It looks like you have stubbies.
Hopefully just from that “Seamaster” and not from OF. Stick around, post some pics of your other Omegas, oh and get yourself an Avatar; might I suggest a “Stubbie” photo .
https://www.omegaseamaster300.com/ This site describes the 300 in detail, including an example of a fake (which the dial looks almost identicle to your posting). Longbow is referring to the "stubbies" near the hour markers.
i just bookmarked it. That website deserves a 2hr lunch . Thank you for the warm welcome gents. I’ll post photos my DarkSideOfTheMoon and 600M shortly.
Welcome!! Nice Planet Ocean and DSOM you have!!! If looking for a vintage piece, in addition to the Seamaster 300, you cannot go wrong with an Omega Speedmaster Professional!!
What’s the story behind the names? Some of my watches get names, but not systematically all of them, just sort of happens. My BA168.022 Seamaster is called Lorelei, the LE Railmaster is Christine, the Chris Ward C65 GMT is Lucifer (after a pizza, not the devil) and bizarrely my C-case Connie is called Ford.
