I have 386.0822 polaris and I can not for the life of me get the bracelet connected. It has 2 tiny bars and a centre screw, getting it all lined up is nigh on impossible. Any tips or help?

The screw side goes into back of watch, not front.
The 2 little bars fit into the lug holes, and the screw holds them in place when screwed down.
See my photo if you can get idea how they fit.

Yes, I gathered which way round the bracelet went.
So I am doing it right but it is just too fiddly for my sausage fingers. I shall try again, thanks for the help.

The screw pushes/secures the little pins into the lug holes. I would try to get the pins in the bracelet link and slide into the case and then try tightening screw. I share the sausage digit thing I feel your pain!
Nice Polaris btw

Cheers, it's holding it all together and then trying to get the screw in that's causing me issues. It won't stay in when you lay them together flat on a table.

I might just see if I can get a thinner spring bar to fit through it all

Another hour and a half tonight, I refuse to believe that this is even possible without some sort of specialist tool.
I can get everything lined up and the pins into the case holes but the second I try to put the screw in it comes away from the case

Does the screw fit the hole correctly without pins fitted?

Get a big lump of Rodeo or putty and set the bracelet flat on the bench with some Rodeo underneath it, bring the case to the bracelet and have it supported by Rodico at a slight angle so the bracelet interconnection is correctly aligned.
Use a fine screwdriver or a pin to move the pins into the case holes, you should then be able to start the screw into the hole.

I'll try that later, great idea.
Due to the way the case is shaped, the moment you try to put downward pressure on the screw, it pushes the bracket and case apart.

Success.... Well kind of anyway. Got one half on but now that it's attached the other side is an absolute nightmare. You get it all lined up but the second you move the bracelet, it just comes apart.
I think I'll have to take a defeat on this one and take it to a watch repair shop
