Bracelet help needed for ‘61 Seamaster

Hi folks

It is predicted that summer may, eventually, at some point, make an appearance here in Vancouver. Should that Ever happen, it would be nice to remain comfortable while wearing my watch in the heat. I don’t have any watches on bracelets, and dang it that should change. So I’m looking for a BOR for my ‘61 Seamaster 14765-2SC with 18mm lugs

@JwRosenthal posted a while back about a similar looking watch https://omegaforums.net/threads/bracelet-guide.93724/, so I think it would look quite good. The googles have not been helpful in my education here, so I’m wondering if anyone can point to what I need in a bracelet and end links. I understand that a 5 row is the most period correct for this. There are some comprehensive looking lists on the forum https://omegaforums.net/threads/fro...ge-seamaster-and-speedmaster-bracelets.45883/ and https://omegaforums.net/threads/case-bracelet-endpiece-list.81618/, but my ref # isn’t listed 😬

Bonus question, do any of these have adjustments that can be made without tools as we swell with heat or beer?

Actually for that case I believe you need the 7-row (5-row are for the fatter lugged ones). Micro- adjustment in the clasp can be done with a paper clip but I usually just have it loose in the morning and by mid-day it’s fine.

Seven row beads of rice with 70 endlinks. 570 would work as well.

The Date is on the cusp between a 5 row and a 7 row. This being said, a 7 row is certainly more style appropriate for the watch. I doubt your watch would ever have come on a 5 row.

I have seen a (what I believe to be) original 7 row on a 14770-2, which is a similar model to the 14765.

The bracelet would be the 8260 with 70 Endlinks. However, as @Davidt said above, the 570s would work (and are easier to find). They would fit on any 7 row BoR, but I believe the 8260 to be the first BOR produced by Omega, which would make it 'correct' for your watch. Not many people (except the Speedmaster lot) care about the bracelet being period correct, but it is down to you.

I have a pair of 609 endlinks, which would fit, happy to send them over to you at what they cost me.

Dang, this is great. Thank you all. It is important to me that the bracelet looks correct, but as you suggest @Lucasssssss , it doesn’t have to be THE correct bracelet.

If you are looking for any 7 row BOR the main references are as follows: 1503, 1037, 1068, 8270

1068 is a 19mm bracelet, maybe 18mm endlinks will still work.. not sure.

Do you mean that the last link on the bracelet is 19mm?

I know I have seen them come on the 555 19mm endlinks, I never thought there was an actual difference in bracelet size. Would be interested to see some photos

I don’t have one yet, but I have one on the way for my 168.010. This is the correct bracelet for a 19mm lug watch, I’m just not sure if the last link is 18mm or 19mm.. presumably 19mm otherwise not sure why they would have a different bracelet for 19mm lugs 😕

Either way, 1037s for example are MUCH more common and cheaper in my experience. And they were definitely meant for 18mm lugs.

@DaveK I may have a 1037 for you, will have to check.

Please update us when you receive it, if the last link on the bracelet is larger, that is very interesting.

Omega seem to have played fast and loose with the bracelet codes, so wouldnt surprise me if they had another ref for what is essentially the same bracelet.

I agree with the 1037 comment, they are generally cheaper and easier to find.

The 1068 is 1mm wider than the 1037, I just measured one.

The 1068 is not simply a 1037, or similar 18mm BOR with an extra link, the contour of the links is different.
