Hi all,

For some time I've had this Speedmaster 145.022-78 (serial 45.xxx.xxx) from 1982 with a 1171-633 bracelet.

Now, as I've come to find out with this helpful graph, both a 1171-633 or a 1171/1-633 would be appropriate for my Speedmaster. However, I have a hard time figuring out what the exact differences are between these bracelets. Would you advise me to source a 1171/1-633 over my 1171-633?

I think the 1171/1 would be less expensive to source. I picked up one about 2 months ago for $50 at a local watchmaker. As a matter of practice, when I see any watchmaker, I stop in and ask if they have any Omega parts. Most never do, so its a number game. I also picked up an old -71 w/1039 bracelet on the cheap at a pawnshop this way. If I see a pawn shop, I pull the car over and go in and check for watches (It seriously drives my wife crazy). Normally I only see Invictas. I also stop when I see Good Will stores, that is how I picked up my $6 JLC.

You should be looking for an 1171 with a trapezoid if originality is the main concern.

No, not the one you are thinking of... These are the ones I picked up. The 1171/1 bracelet is in the - 71 now and I moved the 1039/516 it came on to my SW.
