    Hi all
I was offered this bovet mono ratrapante and, as you can see, the Condition condition Condition is not so good but I rather like those strange lugs and the overall watch appears interesting to my eyes. Having said that, I don't have so much knowledge on this type of watch and.i would like to ask your opinion and advise. It is also quite difficult to adress the market price as there is very few exemple out there... So any idea?
    Only one pic sorry...

you can google pretty good information about bovet mono rattrapante 1940s valjoux 84. i doubt the piece you have has val84, unless you post some pix.

I have one vaguely similar, possibly a bit later.

Reasonably nice movement, interesting dial colour,

nicely signed but not the hyper-tourbillions of today.

If you need to know what it is worth, I will probably be listing it on ebay in the near future along with some 1930s Longines I have picked up recently, including a rare cal.20.28!

you have a neat condition of val84. i hope it is working ok. your only hurdle is the price. my own bovet also has a brevet marking (probly initial productions pending patent). but this one i found on the net is quite amazing.

Thanks! The seller claim it was service a month ago but I am quite suspicious based on movement shot and the what appear to be dirt ( but I am not expert...)
moreover the fixed lugs are strange. It looks like it was done after by someone unexperimented or something like that...
I will probably let this one go due to my lack of knowledge here... Expecially at 3000 euros :/

the lugs design with fixed bar is imo true to its era - art deco and the fixed bar is military specs. yeah, there is always merit in assuring yourself with caution and confidence before grabbing on expensive piece.

I wonder where you would get a band for a watch that size? I just picked up an early 1930s rectangular Zenith 18ct with 24mm lugs and I was planning on having problems getting a strap. There used to be a guy in Clerkenwell Workshops called Tarbox but I lost track of him years ago

The size is not really an issue, this is a 36mm case with 18mm lugs... The issue is the fix lugs and for this.... I have some stuff :D
