Hi all

Found this one locally, looks like a fun piece but really unsure if it is a redial or even correct since all the version I found on the net are different 😵‍💫😵‍💫.

Is it a correct dial? No redone ? The case supposed to be chrome plated? The side looks like steel to me.

Thanks for all the info 😎

Cool watch. I have no answers for you, but I'm curious what others have to say.

base1000 tachymeter is usual dial imprint design for bovet mono rattrapante or chrono valjoux 22. i guess it is 50s. the dial looks original with only "swiss" marking, in clean condition, considering the chromed case which is not quite abused. The caliber is flyback valjoux22 (similar to breguet type20), and not a mono rattrapante. but, depending on the price, it is still a rare and very desirable piece of watch, bovet being the first name in watch norology to develop the split second chronographmechanism. good luck. (ps. my profile icon is a black dialed bovet val22, also in the 50s which i like very much)

Looks fine. Chrome plated. Entry-level Landeron 48 movement or derivative (not Valjoux 22, not sure what @Screwbacks is smoking 😀).

Are you sure it's not $420.00 USD? That would be closer to the true market price.

I was thinking the same. If it is 420usd I may consider maybe he is delusional 😡😡😡

Likely a U.S. market watch with the telemeter scale in miles. I don't know these well enough to comment on the hands but they seem the right length and an appropriate style. Subdial hands match the ad below. It all looks good to me, but not at $4k.
