    Hi guys!

I've been lurking on the forum for a while but never really made an account.. Untill now. You guys really seem to know your stuff, so I thought I'd ask you guys about this watch I bought a couple of days ago (I did not buy it from e-bay, from another site/private seller). I wonder if any of you experts can verify it's authenticity or fake status and what type of omega it is (never owned ome before but I simply couldn't resist this one).

    Here are some pics (haven't opened it yet): image-0-02-01-9edffc1e8fd40253729fec1883aac4fece6181a50e70216bb2e1457cd50b88ca-V.jpg image-0-02-01-4df2ea2bc31bc0381c82e9b6fc40f3a0f677a3d08cfeff56c7c3080a1800ddc3-V.jpg image-0-02-01-60351506dc5b7028d4f6c16464375774543bd6d26ab4bfbce4a056be0d3f325d-V.jpg image-0-02-01-0352fe22a322990f38038c7bb8c0b4572d043863531d368627784fc2d48d3b59-V~2.jpg
I hope the pic quality suffices.

    Thanks in advice, guys!

The case looks correct for a seamaster 600. I'm not sure about the hands... I'm leaning towards redial due to it having both the Geneve and Seamaster branding. A quick internet search showed other examples with the same labeling but they are inconsistent in spacing and font which tells me they are refinished. There are similar watches in both the Geneve and Seamaster line. These are readily available in good condition.

It looks to be authentic. But I' never seen Seamaster 600 Genève, only Seamaster Genève.

    Measure the case diameter, If it's 34.1mm it's a 600, if it's 32.6 it's a Genève.

Omega usually (99% of the time) placed the model script just below a line between the 4 and 8 markers. On this example the Seamaster 600 is too high, the Genève is correct though. I suspect it's been overprinted.

The OPs watch has the Seamaster 600 in the correct position, but the addition of Genève in lighter weight script makes me suspect it was added for some reason.

In the past, some dealers thought the name Seamaster would bring more money than a Genève so they often added the Seamaster script.

The authentic Seamaster/Genève markings first appeared in 1965 and became just "Genève" in 1967.

I know there are 600 Genèves out there, but I'm still not sure they are all authentic.

Try and seek out an original ad/ brochure scan from the era - if it's not a super rare edition, it should be able to be found

Thanks for the inputs, fellas. Really interesting! I think I'm going to have to open it up and see what the the insides tell me.

A-ha.. The case diameter is 32.6. That's a bit weird..

Thanks! From the look of it (without opening it up) it looks exactly like that. I realise my pics aren't the best now when I look at yours.

    Edit: spelling

    I'm guessing it's a 135.012, Omega Genève fitted with a Caliber 601.
