Can anyone give me a little info. Gold or gold plated. Put in a new battery works like a champ. Thanks for any help in advance.
A stainless steel back usually denotes a gold capped or gold plated case. That watch is usually plated. Nice find.
Thanks I was having a hard time finding out anything about it because it has that engraved back on it although it is stamped omega on the back of it. There's no numbers or anything with it. I noticed that the receipt has a movement #35726008 and a metal reference #6107r but couldn't find those numbers anywhere on the web. Thanks again.
I'm learning more every minute, I own a tag I bought new for 2 grand and I actually like this watch just as much not only does it look nice but my dad worked for gm for 40 yrs on the line, I showed it to him he told me " that guy was no shop rat". So its got a little history. Thanks again
A bit more info for you. The f300 utilizes a tuning-fork movement made under license from Bulova, the same technology as introduced by Bulova in the Accutron. BTW f300 is the frequency the tuning-fork vibrates at to regulate the movement. As noted by ULF above this likely a gold plated top case typically 20 to 40 microns on these. You can find more information about these fascination watches here: http://www.electric-watches.co.uk/make/omega/f300/f300.php Here is one of mine.
Very difficult to find any vintage watch will all boxes and papers at any price. You did very well, gatorcpa
