Purchased this watch on my Honeymoon in Jamaica. Looking for an Automatic Watch, since I kill quartz watches, I saw the face on this and forgot every other watch they were showing me.
20 yrs and never serviced (who knew) looses a few seconds a week
wear every day for a week during the day and sleeping. taking off for 24 hrs and it stops
orange is flaking off seconds hand - if I do the omega service route will they re-orange the tip??

never see this watch on the used market so I do not know the number
red box is in my attic per my wife but I have never seen it
36mm
solid sword hands
Blue wave face
Automatic
link bracelet
chrome bezel with blue digits
Stainless steel

Mid size version of the electric blue 2055.80 SMP, known as the 2053.80. You will see many more search hits for 2255.80 and 2253.80 but yours has the Bond bracelet so has a different number to the latter 2 I mention which have the Speedy type bracelet. If you get it serviced at Omega, they will replace the second hand with a new one with a bright red tip and also repolish the case as part of a full service.

...I wonder what Omega will propose to do with the bracelet?

Not sure I follow you. They will polish it like they would any other I would think, do you see something amiss?

No, not at all. I am genuinely curious as to how worn a bracelet would be before the technicians at Omega judge that it will need a complete replacement.

Ah I see what you mean. I guess if it were just marked and a bit stretched but functional they would polish it but if it was too far gone would presumably offer to replace it with additional cost. I have seen it said that their exchange price for some bracelets is not quite as eye watering as the normal part cost, £300 instead of the normal £500 for instance, but am not sure under what circumstances this would apply. They can and do replace just the clasp if that is defective but the bracelet otherwise OK. I had one of those done for around £75 not so long ago but as with all the parts it may be a lot more now.
