Grimy old Boston Clock Company car clock. Will run for short spells then stop.

1914 Pat. Stamp, although by this era I think the Boston Clock Co had been folded into the Chelsea Clock Co.

Looks like rust, but I think this is actually fossilized clock oil.
You know what doesn't smell great?... Hundred year old clock oil :-p

First time working on a clock. I don't have a movement holder near large enough, so the movement is set on top of the parts tray to give clearance for the hands pinions on the other side.

Put together back in the day by "Inrll" (any other guesses?...)
Looks like it is signed in pencil, I'll clean this bridge by hand & preserve the signature.

Seems like kind of a lot of parts for a 3-hander.
Henry Ford would have sent the designers back to the drawing board...

Timing is not great, but also not terrible for a 100 year old 5 jewel that spent its service life getting rattled around by the old Model T.

Square pinion for the minute hand, need to get this on-center first, then go back for the hour hand.
