After exploring the myriad of watch storage options ~ DIY, Jeff Bezos' Megadome Of Chinese Curiosities, Etsy and more ~ I kept coming back to Bosphorus: a company I was familiar with only from their thicc leather watch strap offerings.

Bosphorus prices were off-putting so I waited for a Christmas sale but even then waffled long enough I missed that boat.
I then reached out to them, expressing an interest in purchasing, and asked for a discount code. They obliged.
I further waffled and that code expired.
Fellow OF forum member @JwRosenthal then suggested purchasing a small Anvil type road case to convert, reflecting back onto my career as a pro musician, and while I almost went that route the rabbit hole scent of "started and stopped, read: failed, do it yourself projects" not to mention the fear of a "slapped together" finished project was in the air so I contacted Bosphorus again and asked for another code -- I figured they'd be sick of me but I guess they sensed a serious customer because they sent a code with a deeper discount.

The time was nigh to strike while the curling iron was hot, so I did.

Some details were discussed, most important for me was watch pillows that would accommodate my testosterone dripping, overtly masculine 6.25 inch wrists -- I was assured it wouldn't be a problem. We also fine tuned a few options like type of leather, closures, locks and the deal was sealed.

A few weeks went by and I received tracking information (I did request photos of the case before shipping to me but that didn't happen for whatever reason)... shipping from Turkey to New Mexico was speedy.

Only being familiar with Turkey from Thanksgiving

and the "Ohhhh, Billy" scene from Midnight Express

I was impressed with what arrived and how fast it came.

Well packaged for the voyage across the globe and what a glorious smell upon opening that packaging -- brand new tanned leather.

The quality and build is first rate. Hefty, feels well constructed and robust. Very luxe.
I opted for the saffiano leather in black with silver hardware and removable compartments with a maximum capacity for 15 watches (or 10 with compartments installed).

Final Thoughts: my wife calls it my "Prussian Man Purse" (but she's just jealous that Bosphorus doesn't offer a case for fake fingernails and polish - her latest hobby).

I am very pleased but it is pricey, quality is there but I think Bosphorus is riding on their popularity & reputation within the watch community by jacking their prices up.
They did forget a spare key for my locks which they've promised me but have yet to send...

    Ohhhh, Billy.

Very fancy, dare I ask how much such a case costs one?

They have a few variants listed on their website, with $1,300 for the "basic" ones and uphill from there. Of course, OP can share what it cost to him if he feels like it.

Great looking piece. Now you need a bigger, cheap briefcase that will hold that beauty and keep it from being banged up :D

    Epic!!

Holy shit you nailed it, thought I had seen my case somewhere before -- going to have to name it, "The Rob".

    Well played!

If memory serves, full pop was $1650.00 but I paid a touch over $900.00

I still think if you had a crafty person around they could fashion an old Anvil case into an awesome watch box

1000% agree... I just don't have enough days, or patience, left to do it myself.
Someone does the work for me I am more than willing to pay up.

Yeah, I know my limitations. If it requires more then Elmer’s glue and a pair of safety scissors, there will be an ER visit in my future.

In my case, "ER visit in my future for loosing my mind over how poorly it's turning out and then commencing to stab the shit out of myself for undertaking the project in the first place."
