Bond Seamaster “NTTD” and Speedmaster Silver Snoopy only at boutiques?

Hello,

I’m wondering if the thread title is still supposedly the truth that both of these models are only available at boutique stores. Does anyone know anything to the contrary?

If only at boutiques, I think Omega is doing its customers a disservice since the vast majority of its customers are not served at a boutique store. Thanks for your responses.

Regarding Snoopy Fratello wrote this just yesterday:
Getting your hands on the latest Speedmaster Snoopy
Even today, I am receiving emails and messages from readers and followers asking whether this watch is a limited edition or not. It’s not, and it will remain in the collection for an unspecified amount of time. Obtaining one is a matter of having patience, and that can mean quite a long wait. In fact, I only received mine earlier this year. I also know of people who ordered one on the day it came out who still haven’t gotten the call.

Overpromising authorized dealers
From what I see and hear, your best chance of getting one is to get in touch with a boutique rather than an authorized dealer. Boutiques actually have a priority when it comes to deliveries. All the waitlists are well-meant, but they don’t mean much. There are readers telling me they are number 5 on the waitlist, for example, but since it is some authorized dealer in the middle of nowhere, I find it hard to believe they will receive number 5 anytime soon (or even number 1 or 2, for that matter). The problem here is that it seems authorized dealers are promising things to their clients that they can’t realize. They want to keep their loyal customers happy and promise them a sweet spot on the waitlist. Meanwhile, Omega has not even allocated Speedmaster Snoopy watches to them, or at least not yet.

I was in an AD today, they have the NTTD in the window. It is Baku though, where those who can afford an expensive watch, want Rolex, Omega is available, but not a widely known brand here.

You'll find the NTTD in many places I've seen it crop up a lot, but it is available in most boutiques from y understanding

Like others have said, I have seen the NTTD in multiple ADs (Tampa, Sarasota, and Naples). I was told by one salesperson it is not as popular as the standard model because of the price -- the general population who would not balk at paying $9k for a Rolex will for an Omega.

I'm surprised at the inflated price resellers are charging for it because I think they are readily available from ADs.

Both versions of the NTTD - NATO strap or Titanium bracelet are available from US Omega online store right now.

Interesting. I contacted the local AD today and Omega terminated the contract. She thought it was because Omega would no longer tolerate discounts so decided to cut ties. Seems like the wrong move to me by omega.

Omega (and other brands) have doing this a lot in recent years to reduce the number of ADs in regions in order to make the brand more exclusive. In my area, Tampa-St. Pete, there used to be two ADs for Rolex, Omega, and Grand Seiko - a major chain in Tampa and smaller independents in St. Pete. Only the major chain in Tampa is an AD now. They don’t discount and have separate “mini-boutiques” for the three brands.

I'll disagree. This helps support the brand more as a luxury product and stops the frequent discount shopping. This will be a long-term plus for the brand even though this will hurt sales in the short term.

To the consumer it seems to be the wrong move (higher prices), but it's the correct move for Omega long term. Omega exists for its shareholders, not to provide deeply discounted watches that hurts its bottom line and future sales potential.

On the contrary, it can be good for consumers because it improves the value of their Omega pieces. Less discount means less in circulation and in the very long term it will dry out the grey market, especially for the newer references.

hasn’t really helped with Rolex, has it? Now they’re ALL on the grey market. 😉

I know of two US ADs that currently have NTTD in stock. One has seen one snoopy and the other zero.
