As well as watches with blue dials, I must be a sucker for watches with blue hands, as the first quality watch I ever bought was a Speedmaster Broad Arrow, which I'd seen in a photo and was immediately taken with the blue steel finish of the hands. I recently picked up a Grand Seiko "Snowflake" and thought it had a few similarities to the Broad Arrow, most notably the blue of the sweep seconds hand. Here are some phone camera shots taken on the window sill... One of the more obvious differences between the two is the weight, especially of the bracelet - the Broad Arrow clocks in at 162g but the Snowflake only 92g.
Do old-fashioned blue steel hands count too? (no clue btw if these hands are original to the watch, nor that much of the watch itself.... )
I share your love of the blue hands option and bought this as my first and for a long time only Speedy. It’s been joined by others supposedly more worthy but this still gets a lot of wrist time.
It’s not easy to see the blue hands, but this watch is one of the best looking watches that I have seen in person. Just wish it was a little smaller... And while I’m at it, cheaper
