Like a lot of people I've been after a blue dial DJ41 for some time and like a lot of people not much has turn up from the various Ad's that I've tried. So last week I took the plunge and bought a very nice DJ2. I've not even owned the watch for a week and now one of the AD has phoned to say that he will have DJ41 blue for me at the end of the week.

So before I head over to compare does anyone have experience of both watch and how differently do the look/wear.?

Maybe I will end up feeling foolish over this, but your short hand makes no sense to me at all.

I don't understand your post, can you explain?

Go for the new DJ 41. I’ve handled a couple of both variants in our shop. Not only is the new DJ41 closer in design to the old classics like the 1603/1601 etc (apart from its size obviously) it also trades above retail atm especially the Blue on jubilee. So if you can get a blue jubilee (or oyster) DJ41 at List price, I‘d go for that one.

Over all the nicer watch.
You should be able to sell the DJ II without much loss.
Cheers,
Max

Totally new to me. Seems the model number formats have changed for these. Of that I was totally unaware.

I see now.

As I understand it the Datejust2 (a 41mm model) was introduced several years ago and received a mixed reception, but had a steady following for those looking for a DJ, but a larger version of the classic 36mm version.
Another few years passed and the DJ2 was phased out and replaced with the DJ41, again a 41mm case with a different case shape/design and a more traditional dial and the latest Rolex movement.

Looking forward to seeing the new watch next week.

Sell the DJ2.

The DJ41 is slimmer and has the new 70hr power reserve movement.

He DJ41 blue on jubilee is very nice. I had one for a while and sold it. Wears thin.

My only observation on the 41 is that it’s neither sport nor dress really. The DJ2 has much more of the sporty look going on if that’s what you want.

Well I went to see the DJ41 today and I thought that on balance it was the nicer watch, so after about 15mins of deliberation I bought it, so for now at least I have two blue Datejusts.

Well done. In blue it’s a very desirable watch. Enjoy.

I like the new models -- less case, less apparent bulk, and more dial, especially in blue. To the victor goes the wrist, as it were.

They are extremely similar in that pic. I can see the indices are different.
There is less height & more dial in the new one?

I know in the photos there's not much in it, but up close the DJ2 seems a bit larger in width and height and weight.

It doesn't really work that way here. I've asked for a Pepsi GMT and I believe that I have a chance to get one from this AD source at some point, but I realise that the allocation numbers for this model are fairly low.

Maybe you can switch the dial for another colour in one? So you have 2 different looking DJ's

Congratulations on the new watch, it looks awesome. I am loving my DJ41 albeit with the Rhodium dial, so comfortable on the wrist.
