I'd prefer this for less than half the price of the Swatch
Ok, I'll bite... What is it? where is it?

Clever marketing for those who have always wanted a BP but couldn’t justify the price tag. I saw the moonswatch as a cheeky nod and fun toy- but this seems a little less novel to me and more of a cash grab for some reason. Feels like a relative who finally got the holiday gift right and keeps trying to give you a variation on the same theme every year but the magic has worn off…just seems desperate at this point.

The plastic unserviceable makes it junk IMO, just like the moonswatch sadly. My wife wanted a moonswatch when they came out and months later we happened to be in a mall with a swatch store and they had 4 colors in stock. We were standing there contemplating which one to buy and she said “$400 seems like a lot of money for a disposable watch”…and we walked away. Yup.

If the BP esthetic is calling and you want a modern watch that’s easily serviceable and had the exact genesis of the BP- don’t forget this guy.

It's Sunday, what's the story from the field in Australia, Asia and Europe? Massive crowds standing in line to plunk down $400 on a plastic watch, or just a big yawn this time? Reports?

I live in a capital city here in Oz
Nearest outlet wherein I can purchase said item is 900km away, so I dunno

Was wondering the same thing. Seems quiet this time but is that because the queueing is better managed or because it's underwhelming? Scouring ebay shows a large number of models twice the price or more so clearly the flippers are still flipping.

The story from the field in this part of Europe is that it’s a record 95 degree F heat in mid september - I doubt anyone will be fighting to stand in a line.

No honest hype train would be derailed by a 95 deg F late summer day. It was a nice, sunny 65 F day in Sydney, perfect for being out. But no lines reported anywhere.

Anyone here jump on one? No reports so far.

Did anyone say 42mm was for the ladies?

Case in point- pictures taken today at a Paris Omega boutique of the new Seamaster Paris Olympic 2024. On a special OF mission, including wrist shots by special request @dsio @Trev.

I don't know if you own the 2504.52.00. If not, try it because it's a great watch.

Thank you @spacemission, I have a couple modern beaters but really not those types of budgets.
And a recent house move is making me think I should pursue clutter clearing drastically 😜

Popped into the new Brisbane store (it’s been open a couple of weeks or so) today, and saw the Blancpain briefcase in the window. The MoonSwatch briefcase has been relegated to the back of the store now. Of course all the Blancpain x Swatch, or FathomWatch, or whatever they’re called, had gone in one fell swoop last Saturday. No idea when they will be restocked, but at AUS$630 I won’t be rushing back (tho they did at least have some MoonSwatches available at AUS$415). If I had to choose a bio-ceramic watch collaboration I would prefer the automatic Blancpain as it looks OK, but for me there are other better quality watches at that price point.

Underrated SMP reference.

Too big, too thick, too disposable, too expensive.

But they repurposed sea trash.
