Hi there,

This is my first post on this forum and it's not an Omega. 馃う I do own a few which I'm happy to share. I was actually referred to the forum by some other collectors.

Regarding this post, I found a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms online and I just want to believe it's good as it's one of my grails. However, there's quite some frankens, redials, etc. on the market and I don't want to be caught out.

The pictures I'm posting are unfortunately the best I got. I hope you guys can help me out with your input on authenticity.

Thanks in advance!

DON DON
I would head over to the Military Watch Forum and check with them. I found more fakes than genuine, so difficult to find a proper comparison to compare

Ok thanks a lot. Yeah, it's so difficult. And indeed so many franken and super fakes out there. But I found this one online at a very reasonable price and wanted to believe eventhough it felt off.

It鈥檚 no good at all. Avoid.
Thanks. Bit just to take something away from this, could you point out what is wrong about it?

Cheers

Well the absolute first thing to check is the no rad logo. It鈥檚 a classic mistake in fakes. The black lines shouldn鈥檛 go through the red circle in the centre.

For comparison...

Sorry for the poor pix.
The last one would be an MW issued one. Re painted Dial and wrong Hands.

A well known complete Fake. Even the later AS Rotor engravings give it away....
