Teaser is already on IG, and invites are sent out. Act 3 will be announced on Sep 23. It looks like Blancpain will finally reissue the original 1953. I’m hoping for a 40mm case, although lots of rumblings of 42mm. (I’ll pass at 42mm. Very happy with my 40mm Barakuda). Act 1 and 2 were, meh, I didn’t see much relation to 70th anniversary of FF. I knew they are saving the best for last. Rumors retail to be $18k. I’m currently first reservation holder with a deposit. But boutique manager has zero clue how exclusive Act3 will be. If it’s an ultra exclusive release and only offer them to top clients, I won’t make the cut. Anyone else following these releases?

Most Swiss cheese is actually hole-less… Nicely orchestrated hype-build-up with the SwatchPain timing too…
He commented on WUS a few times pretty immaturely in a thread about that article. He apparently was live-editing without cite for a while as folks were identifying the obviously wrong parts of the article (and got super defensive about the obvious lack of evidence for his thoughts).
Really love the original.. But $18,000.. That seems very steep.. I'm guessing at that price it'll be a precious metal??
last 2 limited editions (in steel) MilSpec and Barakuda were $15k. That was several years ago. $18k is a low estimate for this release. Case looks to be carbon/ceramic.
I have been thoroughly bored by Blancpain's releases so far, and if this is even the slightest bit over 42mm I will continue to be. I don't have much faith in whoever's running Blancpain.
seems they are allergic to 40. Case material in teaser left me cold. If it’s a black carbon ceramic case, I’ll pass and hunt for an original. I initially thought/hope a straight reissue of original FF.
I actually think the Bathyscaphe line looks all right, but it's so unnecessarily large that it leaves a ridiculous amount of open space on the dial. If their lineup was 40-42mm and they integrated the date better, it'd be all right. (Still overpriced though)
Wow, I had no idea they were nearly double the price of a Submariner; I Love the original 50 Fathoms but not so keen on the current model/s.. but for circa 18k I think Air Command is significantly better value for money, and it has those beautiful original style lugs and relatively flat bezel. I did look at the new Tornek Rayville when it was released, but wasn't so keen on the strange moisture-meter-shaped disc in gray and black, and would have expected an ETA movement or similar Swiss movement rather than a Japanese movement.
Pity that’s never happening. The Swatch Crash would heve been brilliant. Kudos to whoever came up with this!
