Hi All,
I have been hunting a black waffle constellation with arrowheads for as long as I've been collecting Omega, but it always has eluded me. I had found 2 previously, but both were redialed and I had mostly given up searching.
Anyways, a bit over a month ago, I ran into this one on eBay. It was in rough condition. Water damage in the movement, terribly scratched glass, white residue bubbling to the dial, on a terrible bracelet. I wasn't sure if it was fixable, but this being a bit of a white whale for me I took a chance.
Here are the auction photos:

Had to stay up to 2am to watch the end of the auction. After it was over started the waiting game. The seller wouldn't ship the watch to me in Hong Kong though the listing said international shipping accepted. Ended up having it shipped to my parents in the states and then slowly sent to me in HK.
When it arrived I was a bit bummed as the dial looked worse than in the photos. The white residue was over the edges of the dial and I wasn't sure it would come off. The case looked better than I thought though. All the stars were visible and one ding I thought I saw on the case was a reflection. The movement was in terrible shape and corroded.
Here were the shots I took when seeing it in the flesh:

Next was the hunt for someone to help with the restoration. Being pretty new to HK I asked around for some places locally to help. I didn't find much and a lot of the places had mixed reviews. Luckily, I got in contact with a member of the forum here, Ronnie, and he took on the restoration over the weekend.
I just picked up the watch from him today and am really happy with how it came out. Can't thank him enough for his time on this. Here are some photos I took tonight after putting it on a 7912 I had waiting for it.
