First of many pictures - I hope. This was the only decent pic I got today.

Long time project finished (almost). The original hands were planned to be reused but they were in a too bad shape - my watchmaker could not source correct hands with lume so we decided on no lume hands for the time being. Looks OK. Difficult to get the pictures to tell the true story about the dial. It is fantastic. The text on the dial is in silver print but looks white in the picture. The modern Omega service crystal makes the Swiss T float around in a strange way.

I am happy with the result of the project but not yet really satisfied. I do want the other hands in place and I do want a sharper case. I know, I know - I earlier wrote that this was the perfect guilt free donor/project watch, etc. But I am a sucker for a sharp edge case...



More and better pictures will come - when daylight returns to Sweden.

spotted this one for sale in the net at the moment 167.005 551, looking £1600. pity it has been heavily polished and is the crown original.

Date or no date... No, there is no consensus and why would there be? Collectors never agree...

That might be the most overpolished case I have ever seen of this model. It is destroyed beyond repair. Not happy with the dial either. Weak text and no serifs. I say it is a redial. Wrong crown. Price ridiculous.

 

Looks like those lugs are melting...

 

Is it suspicious that in this example the minute marks don't align with the hour baton(10 o'clock is very obvious). Text is not as bright as other examples but could be the picture. comments?

Oh... Just buy your NOS black dial to complete your project now. They can be found just about everywhere.

 

That is a nice watch...if only I could find a donor dial it would be on my wrist now.
