Negotiated with the owner of this watch for a possible purchase of 1k. Good or bad purchase?

    1K of...

Pounds? Dollars? Euros? Dried Peas? Baked Beans? Mushrooms?

Does it have box and papers?

What sort of condition is it in?

    When was it last serviced?

    Does the date change correctly?

Is it working as it should?

Do you think it's a fair price?

How much have other similar models sold for on eBay? (Not sure? Go check.)

How does it stack up to others based on the questions I've asked you above?

    Do you want it?

These will be the deciding factors as to whether or not this particular watch is a good purchase.

Oh and not so minor point to the OP, that's not a case of "wrong dial" those are two completely different models of watch.

The first you posted being the Speedmaster Automatic, AKA reduced, and the second being the Speedmaster Date.
