Do ADs or OBs ever participate in Black Friday Omega deals? In the market for my second purchase but will hold off for a couple of weeks if they do.... albeit funds burning hole in my pocket!!

Yes but not the type of deals people have come to expect from big box retailers or Amazon on most consumer goods.

I just dug through my old emails, last year Omega offered a free embossed leather card holder with the (full price) purchase of any watch through their online store in the US. Don't know if the the Boutiques did something similar.

As to ADs, I'm on the mailing lists for a few local ADs, and as I understand it they are not allowed to advertise discounts for Omega, ever. They tend to do giveaways for certain size purchases. So like a free iPad if you spend $3000 or something. But nothing exclusively tied to a watch.

Thanks for this... I live in UK so guessing the same applies. Every year seems to be more retailers jumping on the bandwagon... maybe luxury watches are a step to far at the moment. Guessing same would apply to non authorised dealers but have always felt a bit uneasy purchasing at already heavily discounted prices.

 

Was hoping the likes of Goldsmiths might do something... never seem to be the models I’m after though!

 

Just walk in and ask for one on the model that you're after. Fairly certain that they'll offer you a discount.

Though the discounting level is not that vastly better than you can ‘haggle’ at any time of the year - or that which are promoted in what seem to be perpetual sales for slow moving or end of line models by some of the larger online ADs.

My experience in Toronto is that 2 stores had deals but wouldn't say over the phone and didn't advertise. One was 20% off.

The other was 13% off, while the mall had a further discount of 5% bonus gift cards (e.g pay $1000 for $1050 of gift cards). Another mall in the same chain had bonus of 10% for a better deal if you were willing to drive to 2 malls.

 

I stopped by a boutique today since it was near some other stores I was going to, and was shocked to learn that they had every speedmaster, seamaster, and deville at 30% off, and everything else at 40% off. And it’s not just today, apparently it’ll be there for a few weeks at least. I thought it was strange, but I’m not complaining...
