I'm starting to feel that I don't need both. The big fella is taking over. Nice though the Longines Legend is, the PO has it beaten in sheer presence.

On the other hand the Longines Legend whips the PO in understated elegance.

There are guys who have an entire "collection" of black faced dive watches. 50+ watches that all look the same.

Hmmmm, come to think of it, that could describe some other members' collections of a particular watch that's worshipped here.....

It's just that I find myself lacking the opportunity (or the desire) to display understated elegance which doesn't involve an opaline AT. Actually I think the Speedmaster Teutonic does understated very well.

Definitely the Longines. A very uniquely wholesome look that separates it from the divers.

My girlfriend saw my collection a while ago and was like: "why in the world are they all black?"

Of course I pointed out the tiny details that made them special, but in the end it didn't matter. Caved and bought a blue watch after that. :p

EDIT: with that said though, those are both beautiful :) One's classy and elegant and one's more sporty, but both super functional.

I'm really surprised no former WUS member has called the Longines a Dressy Diver.

She helped you see the light then!

Lest the PC police show up: perhaps better to refer to it more accurately, as the black-dialed diver?

I owned both. I sold both. I opted to go the speedmaster route. These are the problems you have when all your watches don't look the same.

Wha? It's got "Ocean" in the name and is WR to 600M, and an He escape valve. How much more of a diver could it be?

Its missing the word "Diver" on the dial. which I yesterday read here and am pretty sure was mentioned by @Foo2rama. It has got to do with some ISO certification.

Aye Omega does not certify the PO to the ISO standard so they cannot place Diver or scuba on the watch. It does meet all of the standards though.
