Hi all It is that time of the year again when I need to call upon the brain trust of OF. Would anyone be able to tell me if this gold cap Omega Constellation 2852 with black dial is original, especially the dial? From my research, I could not find an exact dial configuration for this reference. The cross-hair looks good to my eyes except I am not sure if it is supposed to extend beyond the markers. I have seen this on other references though. The star is a little crooked, which may be a red flag. The case looks a little soft but I am thinking this may just be because of the gold cap. The naiad crown is also interesting and not something you see often but I am not sure if this watch has the correct naiad case. If it helps, the watch is around $1500. Thank you so much
I would personally like to see photo taken that is straight-on to the dial, as the slightly-off perspectives make it more difficult to judge, especially where the lines meet the hour markers.
Very, very promising for an original dial, but would like better pix in natural light, I vote original for now. Very polished case, however Very nice medallion
Thanks so much for the replies all I have the seller for more photos and he has sent through the following:
On dome dials such as this the lines should go to the edge of the dial, on pie-pans the lines should only be on the flat surface and not beyond the markers. The seller have a knack for finding a lot of interesting watches and they almost always end up expensive - don't be too bothered if it ends up above your budget.
