    Hello -

My auction alert has brought to my attention this, apparently from the lab of Dr Fronkensteen -

    https://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/...aign=auction-alert&utm_content=lot-image-link

Apparently the full gamut of Speedy elements on display here - 2998-61 serial no on the case back, a movement number from 1971, DON bezel and a long 'S' dial, not to mention the case....

    Here's the listing:
Omega Speedmaster gentleman's chronograph wristwatch ref. 2998-61 with dot over 90 (DO90) tachymetre bezel, black service dial, luminous hands and markers, stainless steel case, straight lugs and 17 jewel calibre 861 movement, on stainless steel 1039 bracelet, case diameter 38mm, serial number 31316117. (Estimate £3-5k)

I note there are 4 watchers on this item - are they after parts?? As ever, interested in your thoughts and expertise...

The terror! I wonder what ref to call a piece like this... this one seems to have the case and caseback from the ref no used in the add. The bracelet is nice though. It seems the bracelet is used to "raise" the watch all together. Better sold separetely i'd think
